Art of Tattooing

Philosophy

As long as I remember, ornamenting bodies has always been a major part of my life. I've always had a conflicted relationship with my body and like I always say, the art of tattooing saved me.

I started tattooing my body 4 years ago, first, mastering the art of handpoking on my legs. It was this ritual of creating ornaments for myself and documenting it that took me to the next level: people trusted me enough and gave me the honor of inking them. I mastered my technique to the point that I was feeling ready to learn machine tattooing.

From this, I found in this art the mission to help people with their bodies; healing them from trauma by reappropriation, giving my energy to repair and to restore bodies (physically and energetically).

Just like Kintsugi, my approach is a traditional restoration that involves embellishing 'broken' bodies with gold dust, a symbol of resilience and beauty. My ornaments are like this gold dust practiced in Kintsugi, except that they last forever.

This is how my art was born and so was my life mission.

As I wrote above, a body is like a temple; and as we all know, a temple is a place to worship divinity. My role is to create ornaments on bodies and to carve in souls moments that one can later on worship and cherish. Because what you will worship and love is yourself.
Because we all have divinity inside ourselves to worship and to be grateful for.

Our bodies are just vessels in which we experience life at its lowest and its highest so as to learn to better Love. Love others but above all, love yourself.

The art of tattooing bodies is honoring them and their function to hold life.

The art of tattooing is an act of love towards yourself, a transcendant experience which teaches you to let go (through pain) and to appreciate yourself (through the experience).

Just like a temple, what I want to achieve with my art is that people worships their own self and loves their bodies as something sacred. But beyond that, what I hope is that they remember this moment as something special and important; a moment during which good energies and intentions are shared and anchored-inked in their skin.

Care

Before the tattoo session

The smoother and healthier your skin, the better the tattooing and healing process will be. Make sure that your skin is moisturized and well looked after. You can start moisturize the desired area one week ahead of the appointment. Do not moisturize your skin the day of your appointment.

Scratches, moles and scars should be mentioned in advance.

During the tattoo session

No drinks/drugs or blood thinners. Be well rested, eat healthy and wear loose clothing.

Tattoo ink and stencil are not washable so bring clothes that can be stain even though I will do my very best to keep you clean.

Please feel free to bring your favorite accessories and some entertainments (headphones, books, switch... whaveter that can help you fight the pain).

Tattoo aftercare & healing process

After getting your tattoo, keep the bandage on for no more than 2 hours. Gently remove the bandage and wash the tattoo with water and Ph neutral soap. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel. Avoid touching or scratching the tattoo, and don't pick any scabs that may form. Wear loose clothing that won't rub against the tattoo during the whole healing process.

Don't pick at the scabs or peel the skin, as this can damage the tattoo and cause scarring. Keep the tattoo clean and let it dry for the first 3 to 5 days. If necessary, you can moisturize it with vegetal oil (jojoba, almond, coco... etc). Because every skin is different, listen to your skin.

No sport, sauna, bath, swimming, sunbathing, solarium, hot and long shower for at least 6 weeks. Avoid exposing the tattoo to direct sunlight, chlorine, or salt water until it's fully healed.

Certain areas of the body may require special attention during the healing process. For example, tattoos on the hands and feet may take longer to heal and may require more frequent moisturization.

After healing, use UV-Protection (50+), to make sure your tattoo stays strong and fresh.

If you have any concerns or questions about the healing process, don't hesitate to contact me.
